After the pathetic display against Partick Thistle on Tuesday the Beanos today headed down the M74 to take on Queen of the South in Dumfries. Both games between the sides have been drawn this season and another point today would have been seen as something to build on. Unfortunately as the title of this article tells you we didn’t get a point. Instead we suffered another morale sapping heavy defeat. Team lines from Palmerston: Stirling Albion: 1. Scott Christie, 2. Raith Rovers 2 Stirling Albion 1

Having collected a precious point down in Dumfries on Tuesday night it was another tough task for Stirling this afternoon as they visited table-topping Raith Rovers. The tough matches just keep coming in this league and once again the Albion would have it all on to take anything from their full-time hosts. However, under Jocky the Beanos may not be winning many games but sides are at least having to fight for what they earn. That’s all we can realistically expect at this level and probably not many fancied our chances of gaining a result at Starks Park. That said, we did win on our last visit although Rovers exacted revenge with a 3-1 win at the DDS in January. Team lines for Stirling showed just the one change from the match at Palmerston. As our defensive injury jinx continues it was the turn of Scot Buist to miss game [... more]
Cowdenbeath 5 Stirling Albion 1
For the second time in seven days the Beanos headed to Fife on league duty. Following the comprehensive but expected defeat at Dunfermline the Beanos surely had higher hopes of a result against Jimmy Nichol’s Cowdenbeath. When the teams met at Forthbank earlier in the season it was the visitors who recorded a 3-1 win and Stirling knew a repeat of that lamentable performance wasn’t an option. Due to floodlight issues the match at Central Park kicked off early a 1:30pm. What with a pitch that is too small, floodlights that don’t work and an old stand which is falling down it has to be said that old Central Park has seen better days. That said, it’s what happens on the pitch that matters and three points was the order of the day for John O’Neill’s men. Team lines for the visitors showed just the one change from East End [... more]
After the media circus surrounding the match against Dundee it was back into the shadows this afternoon for Stirling as they entertained Partick Thistle in a key bottom of the table clash. The Beanos recent good run of one defeat in five matches began against today’s opponents when a Gordon Smith goal gave Stirling their first league win of the campaign. Since then a win at previously unbeaten Raith Rovers and draws against QOS and Dundee have seen John O’Neill’s men begin to move up the table. Forthbank has been a good hunting ground in seasons gone past for Thistle as home teams tend to struggle in matches between the sides. However, it was time for the Albion to put an end to that trend and record their first home league win of the season. Team lines for the hosts saw two changes from the drawn game against Dundee.
