Although it may sound like it RedWeb was not actually in attendance today. Been to Ibrox before and my waning enthusiasm for this 2012/13 version of Stirling Albion meant we couldn’t face a return journey. Nothing against the team and as always we wished them the best but just decided to give it a miss.  Normal match report service will resume with the up coming home games, weather permitting. For those at Ibrox this afternoon they would have heard the following teams announced: Stirling Albion: Mark Peat, David McClune, Kieran McAnespie, Marc McCulloch, Jamie Bishop, Gary Thom, Ross McGeachie, Daly McSorley, Graham Weir, Mark Ferry, Stephen Day. Stirling Albion 1 Rangers 0

No you weren’t dreaming. Today Stirling Albion did indeed play a Division Three match against Rangers. The whys and wherefores of how we got here have been the subject of much wailing and gnashing of teeth over the summer months. However, here is where we are and so the day finally arrived when the Beanos hosted the fallen giants from Ibrox. The Albion came into the match on the back of five straight league defeats and found themselves rooted to the bottom of the SFL. That said the five goals scored down at Dalbeattie will have seen some confidence return to Albion ranks as Ally McCoist’s men headed to Forthbank. Rangers for their part have struggled away from home and have yet to actually win on their Division Three travels. Last time out the Gers only managed to defeat 10 man Forres 1-0 in the Highlands on cup duty as their travel [… more]

Stirling Albion 0 Rangers XI 1 - Peter McKenzie Testimonial

Following defeat at Allan Park against Highland League side Cove the Beanos returned to Forthbank to play one of only two home pre-season clashes.
