Shorter than normal report tonight. Why? Because it was a crap game, I can’t really be arsed writing a report and lastly the Master’s in on TV so let’s get to it! With the Forthbank pitch resembling the colour of a beach the match started with the Beanos shooting towards the Springkerse end of the stadium. Peterhead came into the game on red hot form with a trail of wins and clean sheets in their wake. That was irrelevant. Stirling needed to win. However, it was the Blue Toon who enjoyed the better of the opening few minutes. A free kick was only half cleared to Graeme Sharp who pulled a weak shot past Sam Filler’s right hand post. After the decent display at Ibrox and the thrashing of a hapless Berwick Rangers the Beanos surely came into their last match before Christmas in confident mood. Yes, the Wee Rangers were rotten but we’ve lost to a number of stinking teams this season. The difference last weekend was that we took our chances and showed a ruthless streak so far missing in the campaign. Perhaps we’ve hit upon our best XI, maybe the penny finally dropped with the players, perhaps the coaching staff knew it was now or never. Whatever, things have been on the up in the last couple of games and another positive outcome against Peterhead this afternoon would send all Albion fans into Christmas in a festive mood.
