Annoying fixture this weekend all round for the Beanos. Not only having to play on a Sunday, but to make matters worse, a trip to RedWeb’s least favourite venue, Dens Park. Despite a 25 point deduction for going into administration, Dundee have managed to drag themselves clear of the bottom two. We could go on all week about the merits of the Dundee punishment but we’ve been there and done that. Suffice to say most still think they got off lightly. However, the truth is they have responded well to the points deduction and have actually won as many games as table topping Dunfermline. In fact if they got their 25 points back they would be leading the race towards the SPL. Simple objective for Stirling in this one. After the last gasp comeback at Central Park the Beanos headed to Glebe Park knowing a point against Brechin would almost certainly win the Division Two title. With Alloa a long way behind on goal difference the only way a draw wouldn’t be enough was if the Wasps somehow managed to beat Cowdenbeath by eight or nine goals. This was never going to happen so a point would be enough. However, clinging on for a point wouldn’t be good for the nerves and so hopefully Allan Moore’s men might go gently on their big travelling support. This is the Beanos though and if there is a hard way to do something we’ll find it so a tense afternoon was always on the cards.
