Stirling Albion 3 Montrose 1

Having been idle since the defeat to Clyde on the Broadwood plastic the Beanos were no doubt itching to get back into action. As bad as we were on that day Montrose played well and they seemed to have used that result as a springboard. Since then the Angus outfit have been one of the form teams in the division and a win for them today would potentially push them into the top three.  Stirling of course came into today’s encounter on the back of two solid wins and would [… more]

In Stirling’s last home game the ground was filled to capacity as the mighty Rangers lost to the Beanos for only the second time in their history. Back to reality this afternoon as three quarters of Forthbank Stadium stood empty with only the West Stand deemed to be required for the visit of struggling Montrose. The visitors from Links Park have yet to win on their travels and have so far only collected a solitary point on the road. In their last outing Stuart Garden’s men were thrashed 6-1 up in Elgin while the week before they were bundled out of the Scottish Cup by Edinburgh City. Simply going by recent results the Beanos surely had to be looking at three points if they were not to start losing any momentum built up by the wins over Dalbeattie and Rangers. However, without the novelty factor of our last two outings, [… more]
