John O’Neill’s men travel to Fife next Saturday to take on second top Dunfermline at East End Park. The Pars have been top of the table over recent weeks but a draw at Dundee last time out allowed neighbours Raith Rovers to reclaim top spot. When the sides met at Forthbank the Beanos suffered their biggest defeat of the season as the visitors ran out 5-1 winners. That said it was only a burst of late scoring which gave the match a lop sided look after Stirling had competed well for most of the game. However, there was no doubting the Pars class and another tough 90 minutes will be in store for the battling Beanos. Stirling’s second home league game of season 2010/11 saw former Albion favourite Steven Bell returning to Forthbank with his Dunfermline side. The Pars got off to a flier this term with a win at promotion favourites Falkirk and the following week they made it two wins from two with home success over Morton. Last weekend they suffered a sore defeat as they lost to league leaders Raith Rovers in a Fife derby at Starks Park and would have been keen to bounce back today. A tough match was bound to be in store for John O’Neill’s men but with only one point collected from three games so far it was time to get their season moving. Team lines for today’s encounter saw the Beanos making two changes from the 3-0 defeat at Falkirk Stadium.
