Stirling took a break from their miserable run of results in Division One to host Partick Thistle on Scottish Cup duty. With Stirling already having four games against Thistle, including one three weeks ago and another next week, it wasn’t a cup tie which was ever likely to set pulses racing. However, with the big guns entering in the next round the chance was there for either side to win and draw money spinning opposition. The Beanos have won twice in league action against Thistle this season so would have fancied their chances of progressing in the Scottish Cup. That said our form has of course been rotten of late so confidence might not have been as high as it would have been a few short weeks ago.
