Berwick Rangers 4 Stirling Albion 1

With a trek to the wilds of Dalbeattie lying in wait we decided to give this afternoon’s trip down the A1 a miss. Instead we had a nice 4.5 mile dog walk which kept the mutts happy and gave the RedWeb’s a useful 90 minutes of cardio ! Anyway, I digress. Elgin City 3 Stirling Albion 1

The reason this is RedWeb’s last season is because we don’t have the commitment these days to make seven hour round trips to places like Elgin and Peterhead. Been there, done that got the t-shirt. Just want to do other things with weekends these days. Therefore for the first, and not last time this season, we are not in attendance and so can only offer a match summary. Team lines for the game were: Stirling Albion: 1. Mark Peat, 2. Ross McGeachie, 3. Danny Ashe, 4. Jamie McCunnie, 5. Jamie Clark, 6. Brian Allison, 7. Scott Davidson, 8. Gavin Macpherson, 9. Graham Weir, 10. Gary Brass, 11. Mark Ferry – Subs: Kieran McAnespie on for 2, David McClune on for 8, Josh Flood, Stephen Day, Sam Filler (GK) Elgin City: 1. John Gibson 2. Graeme Beveridge, 3. Paul McMullan, 4. Sean Crighton, 5. Jamie Duff, 6. David Niven, 7. Craig Gunn, 8. Ross [… more]

Jocky Scott and John Blackley Out, Greig McDonald In !

This evening (Sunday 4th December) the club issued a short but significant statement: Stirling Albion Football Club have parted company with their management team of Jocky Scott and John Blackley by mutual consent. Defender Greig McDonald has agreed to take charge of the team for Tuesday’s game against Forfar at Station Park. So after 38 competitive games in charge the Stirling Albion Executive decided the time had finally come to make a change. From those 38 games the Albion only won 5 and currently sit bottom of Division Two having lost seven consecutive matches. However, the Exec can’t be accused of panicking too early and are due credit for not rushing to judgement. It may be the second manager to go in the space  of a calendar year but Jocky and John had more than enough time to show us they were the men for the job. They didn’t. If [… more]
