This evening (Sunday 4th December) the club issued a short but significant statement: Stirling Albion Football Club have parted company with their management team of Jocky Scott and John Blackley by mutual consent. Defender Greig McDonald has agreed to take charge of the team for Tuesday’s game against Forfar at Station Park. So after 38 competitive games in charge the Stirling Albion Executive decided the time had finally come to make a change. From those 38 games the Albion only won 5 and currently sit bottom of Division Two having lost seven consecutive matches. However, the Exec can’t be accused of panicking too early and are due credit for not rushing to judgement. After a week off for good behaviour the Beanos faithful once again made their way down to the DDS to see if their favourites could halt their losing run. Five straight defeats has Stirling nailed firmly to the foot of the division two table and a lack of goals isn’t helping the mood amongst the Albion fans. Last time out the team actually put in a respectable effort against Dundee in the Scottish Cup. As it happens Jocky seems to be able to get the Albion up for matches against Dundee. The trick is now to replicate that effort against everyone else we play. So far it’s proving an elusive feat. Today’s opponents Airdrie United have had an up and down season but one thing they aren’t short of is goals.
