Albion Hammer Hosts To Win EK Tournament

With Kilwinning having stuffed Dumbartons youngsters 5-1 in the 3rd/4th place play off the stage was now set for the final of the inaugural East Kilbride tournament. Stirling manager Allan Moore and coach Mark McNally chose to make wholesale changes to the team that played Kilwinning as only Dougie Wilson retained his place. Stirling Edge Out Kilwinning In EK Tournament

With the hosts East Kilbride Thistle already having beaten a Dumbarton U-19 side by 3 goals to 1 the winners of our match against Kilwinning knew what awaited in the final. With such strong Albion connections in the home side Stirling fans in attendance would no doubt have been keen to take on some of their old favourites in the final. Stirling Pre-Season Kicks Off

Stirling kicked off their pre-season schedule with a run out against Owen Coyles St Johnstone up at Stirling University. On a roasting hot day Stirling seemed to have around 25 or so players on parade and the plan was obviously to give everybody a shot. Normally these games at the Uni tend to be played over 3 or 4 periods and this once again looked to be the case. Pre-Season Signing News

Stirling manager Allan Moore has in the last week or so added some new faces to the Stirling Albion squad for the forthcoming season. The biggest name is undoubtedly the former Rangers, Hearts and Livingston midfielder STEVEN BOYACK. The 28 year old ex-Rangers kid has spent his entire career in the full time ranks and has made a big decision in deciding to go part time with Stirling. The word is he lives locally and has a decent job outside football so this partly explains his decision to join the Beanos. Apparently he turned down an offer from Brechin City which is a good sign as it shows his heart really is in being at Forthbank. Not exactly sure what position Stevie plays but wherever he ends up I’m sure he’ll do a great job and could be the key man if Stirling are to have a successful season. Steven [... more]
